Last night, at the All-Ireland Business Summit Awards, our Founder & Chairwoman, Hilarie Geary, received the prestigious 2019 Female-Led Business of the Year Award in front of an audience of peers and corporate players. This win followed the announcement of Executive connections being given the Business All-Star Accreditation the day before.
Hilarie Geary was just 25 years old when she founded recruitment consultancy Executive Connections in 1991. She is a member of the Institute of Directors and the National Recruitment Federation and is a much in demand conference and event speaker.
How it started
“From a young age I knew I wanted to own my own business and having previously worked within recruitment, I established Executive Connections as a specialist banking and financial services recruitment consultancy in Ireland. Today we employ 22 great people in our offices in Dublin, Galway and Limerick, covering numerous disciplines within financial services, locally and internationally. We have won many awards from the National Recruitment Federation “best in sector” to the “most forward-thinking advertising” campaign.
What this win represents
“This Award is not only a big milestone and a great achievement for myself but also a recognition of the hard work our team puts in on a daily basis. We are constantly challenged but we have learned how to adapt over the years. The recruitment business is highly competitive and one you need to work very hard at to be the best. It is always changing which is probably why it is so attractive to work in for most. Finding the right blend of employees is always a great challenge and is key to the overall success of a recruitment business. We have a great team within Executive Connections – a group of genuine entrepreneurs who are committed to delivering a result-driven service to our candidates and clients. I feel very lucky to be working alongside such talented individuals whom I truly value.”
